The Man of Steel has a face! After being kept off-screen during Season 1 of Supergirl, former Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin has been cast in the role of Superman/Clark Kent.

Hoechlin will appear in the first two episodes of the Season 2 when the series moves to The CW this fall. Clark will arrive in National City to visit cousin Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke on the casting in a statement. “Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”

Tyler Hoechlin’s got the jawline, physique and acting chops to pull off the role of one of the world’s most iconic superheroes. For four seasons he anchored MTV’s supernatural drama Teen Wolf as Derek Hale. Additional credits include 7th Heaven, Castle, and can be seen in the next installments of the Fifty Shades franchise – Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

Supergirl will air Mondays on The CW when the series premieres this fall.
