General Hospital star Tyler Christopher has signed on as the male lead in the independent film Pretty Broken, a coming of age, dark comedy directed by Brett Eichenberger.
Christopher, who won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Leading Actor in 2016, will portray Jerry Carlyle, a former children’s access television star, now a self-proclaimed role model for his used car sales team, who uses his southern charm and one-liners to win over women.
Pretty Broken, written by Jill Remensynder (Light of Mine, winner of Best High-Definition Feature at HD Fest) and produced by Leoninan Pictures and Resonance Productions, follows the story of Lindsey Lou, an unemployed college dropout on the verge of divorce who finds herself couch surfing at her childhood home while her family grieves the death of her father. As the family tries to put the past behind them, Lindsey fights to keep his memory alive before her mother replaces him with a younger man.
Tyler Christopher joins previously announced cast members Jillian Clare (Alien Abduction, Days of our Lives), who toplines the film as Lindsey; also starring Paula Trickey (Bridal Bootcamp, Pacific Blue), Preston Bailey (Dexter, The Crazies), Peter Holden (The Social Network, The Dark Knight Rises) and Adam Chambers (The Kitchen, Girl Vs. Monster).
Filming resumes production in Portland, Oregon beginning September 8 after a six week hiatus. The first-look teaser can be seen at http://helplindseylou.com.
