Teen Wolf star Shelley Hennig will reprise her role as Stephanie Johnson on NBC’s Days of our Lives this February for a very special occasion.

Soap Opera Digest exclusively confirmed the actress’ return, which was first reported by DAYS superfan Jason47 in November. Hennig taped her appearance months ago, as Days of our Lives films six months in ahead. Stephanie’s return coincides with the wedding of her parents, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans).

Before she kicked ass as snarky werecoyote Malia Tate on MTV’s Teen Wolf, Shelley Hennig spent four years breaking hearts in town named Salem as the daughter of one of daytime’s most popular supercouples. She took over the role of Steve and Kayla’s feisty daughter Stephanie in 2007. Over the course of her stay, Stephanie transitioned from an adrenaline junkie race-car driver to a confident business woman with a complicated love life. In 2010 she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress.

The actress exited Days of our Lives in early 2011 with co-star and love interest Jay Kenneth Johnson (ex-Philip). “It just feels right,” said Hennig at the time. “I’ve been preparing for this for a while, so I have said my mental goodbyes.”

Soon after leaving DAYS, former Miss Teen USA was cast as a series regular in the short-lived CW supernatural drama The Secret Circle. Post-cancellation, she landed roles on MTV’s Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous and FX’s Justified, before joining the cast of MTV’s Teen Wolf’s as Malia Tate in 2013.
