She’s mean, mean, mean! Emmy winner Eileen Davidson, star of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, is returning to NBC’s Days of our Lives this fall. But who will she be playing?
TV Insider’s Michael Logan exclusively broke news of the soap diva’s return earlier today. The actress began filming June 5, and will make her on-screen debut during November sweeps. The timing of Eileen’s return couldn’t be better. We’re finally nearing the end of Dena Higley’s (latest) disastrous tenure as head writer, with transitional episodes from new head writer Ron Carlivati, expected to begin airing next month.
Though many expect she’ll be portraying sinfully delicious vixen Kristen DiMera, representatives for the soap won’t confirm her character. “The exact role—or roles — Eileen will be playing this time around is strictly under wraps. It’s all a big surprise for the audience.”
That may seem like a curious statement to make, but makes sense given Davidson’s character history. Not only did Davidson portray Kristen DiMera, but her doppelganger Susan Banks AND Susan’s sisters Thomas, Penelope and Sister Mary Moira.
Davidson is the latest big name returning to DAYS this fall. Fan favorite Alison Sweeney is returning as Sami Brady for a multi-month arc, and three-time Emmy winner Chandler Massey is reclaiming his role as Will Horton.
