The superhero TV landscape just keeps getting bigger and bigger for the upcoming season. Tom Welling and Erica Durance, stars of the decade long-running WB/CW superhero drama Smallville (2001-2011) will reprise their roles as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in The CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event.

Durance posted a photo of her and Welling on Instagram writing: “So, I was just minding my own business, and I ran into this guy @tomwelling #Smallville #crisis #loisandclark. Laughed until I cried! So much fun.”

As reported by Deadline, Welling is the third man to suit up as the Man of Steel for this event, joining Brandon Routh, who played Superman in the mid-2000’s film Superman Returns, and Tyler Hoechlin, who currently plays the Last Son of Krypton in the CW’s Supergirl. It will be interesting to see where this version of Superman is at in his life and hero career almost a decade removed from the series finale of Smallville. And with the Godfather of CW Superheroes joining the Crisis ranks, this crossover is shaping up to be one for the ages.

“Crisis on Infinite Earths” is a five-part event for this season’s annual Arrowverse Crossover and will air three episodes in December and two in January.

You can catch Batwoman and Supergirl Starting Oct. 6 on Sundays at 8PM and 9PM EST respectively. Black Lightning starting Oct. 7 on Mondays at 9PM EST. The Flash starting Oct. 8 on Tuesdays at 8PM EST. Arrow’s final season starts Oct. 15 on Tuesdays at 9PM. And Legends of Tomorrow will premiere in January with their crossover episode.
