ABC Launches “Flashback Fridays” for General Hospital, Will Air Encore Episodes Each Friday Due to Coronavirus

0

ABC has announced a change to the airing schedule for long-running soap opera General Hospital, a result of the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic. With production halted due to the virus, and an extension of the social distancing guidelines by the 45th President through April 30, the network is stretching the episodes already filmed by only airing new material four-days a week.

Beginning Friday, April 3, 2020, ABC is launching “Flashback Fridays,” airing classic encore episodes introduced by a series star. Emmy winning actress Laura Wright (Carly) will kick off the initial encore with the 2019 anniversary episode featuring the reading of Gail Baldwin’s will.

GH shut down production March 16, 2020, and was expected to resume filming April 10, 2020. Obviously, that will not be possible.

I bet you’re missing SOAPnet right about now…
