ABC has announced that production on the long running soap opera General Hospital will be suspended effective Monday, March 16, 2020 due to concerns over the Coronavirus epidemic.

Production will resume April 10, 2020. The network doesn’t anticipate interruptions in what is set to air. GH joins a long list of television series that have suspended production due to the outbreak including Grey’s Anatomy, Gracie & Frankie, The Good Fight, NCIS, and over 35 NBC Universal series such as Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU, The Kelly Clarkson Show and more.

At press time, General Hospital is the only US soap to announce it has suspended production.
