The CW Announces Fall Premiere Dates: Final ‘Supernatural’ Episodes, ‘Swamp Thing’ Debut

Today the CW announced their premiere dates for the fall season. Having to reshuffle their entire schedule due to the pandemic, returning summer staples, a held final season and acquired programming will comprise their fall schedule.

The CW will kick off their fall schedule starting Friday, September 18th with the season premiere of Masters of Illusion at 8:00. An encore episode will air at 8:30. The series premiere of World’s Funniest Animals will debut at 9:00 followed by another original episode at 9:30.

The CW usually celebrates the kickoff of their schedule with the iHeartRadio Music Festival and will again be doing so. iHeartRadio Music Festival: Night One will air Monday, September 27th from 8-10 followed by iHeartRadio Music Festival: Night Two on Tuesday, September 28th from 8-10.

Sunday, October 4th will see the second season premiere of usual summer entry Pandora. The space drama will air at 8:00. The 9:00 hour is yet to be scheduled but Two Sentence Horror Stories was previously earmarked for the night.

Swamp Thing will make its broadcast premiere following a one season run on DC Universe. It will premiere Tuesday, October 6th with a special 90-minute episode starting at 8:00. A week later, Tuesday, October 13th, will see the second season broadcast premiere of Tell Me A Story which will air at 9:00. Season 1 of Tell Me A Story, which previously aired on CBS All Access, is currently airing on the CW.

Wednesday, October 7th will see the series premiere of Devils, an Italian drama acquisition led by Patrick Dempsey at 8:00. The second season premiere of Coroner, a Canadian medical drama acquisition, will air after at 9:00 also on Wednesday, October 7th. The first season of Coroner is currently airing on the CW.

Supernatural will air its final 7 episodes with a final run starting Thursday, October 8th. The series production on the final season was halted due to the pandemic but production is due to restart this week on the final episodes, if all goes according to plan. The CW also announced a special retrospective special will lead off the night of the series finale. Supernatural: The Long Road Home will air at 8:00 Thursday, November 19th. The series finale of Supernatural will air at 9:00 following the special.

Thursday October 8th will also be the third season premiere of usual summer entry The Outpost. The fantasy series will air at 9:00. Airing in the fall will mean higher profile runs for the CW’s usual summer programming like The Outpost and Pandora.
