Starz has renewed Outlander for an eighth and final season. The network has also ordered the prequel series Outlander: Blood Of My Blood to series. The ten episode new series will center on the lives and relationship of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. The eighth season of Outlander will consist of ten episodes, following an extended 16 episode seventh season, which is currently filming in Scotland and will air this summer on STARZ. The series is inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books. 

Season two of Bel-Air premieres on Peacock February 23. Tatyana Ali who played Ashley Banks in the original The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air will make a recurring guest star appearance. Season two picks up with Will at a crossroads in his life as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence. He juggles this while navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season. We’ll see Will and Carlton’s brotherhood start to evolve as they grow closer, but still challenge each other about their differences. We’ll also see Hilary evolve as she becomes more of a boss in her influencer world and how that spills over into her relationship with Jazz, and also highlight the relatable struggles around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family while trying to forge their own career paths and reconnect to the things that are important to them. 

Season ten of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will premiere on HBO February 19. A satirical, insightful, and meticulously researched look at current events in the U.S. and around the globe, the weekly series features Oliver’s hilarious, expertly honed perspective on today’s pressing political, social, and cultural issues, as well as lesser-reported topics that both inform and entertain. Shot in New York, season ten features the show’s weekly topical insights, signature deep dives, and distinctive comedy pieces. 

HBO Max has canceled Gossip Girl after two seasons. Showrunner Joshua Safran is shopping the series to other outlets. The series took place nearly a decade after the original Gossip Girl’s website went dark. A new generation of New York City private school teens are introduced to the unflattering reality of 24/7 social surveillance.

Amazon Freevee has ordered comedy series The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh. As told through hilarious (and often conflicting) flashbacks from an interrogation room, the Pradeeps quickly find themselves embroiled – romantically, personally, and professionally – with a polar-opposite neighborhood family, leading to a predicament with many surprising twists. The eight episode series stars Naveen Andrews, Megan Hilty, and Sindhu Vee. 

Season two of Netflix’s Oddballs will premiere February 24. The series follows James, a bubble-shaped boy, whose observations on life fuel his comedic rants at everyday annoyances and elevates them to laughably absurd heights. Along with his best friends Max (a talking crocodile) and Echo (a girl who claims to be from the future), James’ ridiculous schemes to question norms often result in disaster.

Anime series Summer Time Rendering is now streaming on hulu in sub and dub. Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?

Sofia Helin, Shelley Conn, Kevin McNally, and Jason Wong have joined the cast of Amazon Freevee’s spy series Alex Rider. They join Otto Farrant, Stephen Dillane, Vicky McClure, Brenock O’Connor, Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́, and Marli Siu in the upcoming third season. Adapted by Guy Burt from “Scorpia”, the fifth “Alex Rider” novel, Season Three sets the teenage spy on the trail of his greatest enemy: the elusive criminal network known as Scorpia. Finally free of the manipulative Alan Blunt and his Department, Alex embarks on a personal mission to destroy Scorpia once and for all, little realizing the journey will reveal his ties to both organizations run deeper than he ever thought possible. 

Nominees for the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards are out now. Voting is open until January 25. Spy x Family scored 19 nominations, followed by Ranking of Kings with 15, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners with 13. 

TNT and TBS have delayed their upcoming original series set to premiere in January. Series including Miracle Workers, The Cube, and The Lazarus Project will premiere at later dates. 

Diana Lin, Archie Kao and Tzi Ma have been cast in hulu’s upcoming series Interior Chinatown. Lin and Kao will be series regulars while Ma will recur. They join  Jimmy O. Yang, Chloe Bennet, Ronny Chieng, Sullivan Jones and Lisa Gilroy. The series follows a background actor in a procedural cop show called “Black & White”. Relegated to the background, Willis goes through the motions of his on-screen job, waiting tables and dreaming about a whole world beyond Chinatown. When he inadvertently becomes a witness to a crime, Willis begins to unravel a criminal web in Chinatown, and in the process discovers what it feels like to be in the spotlight.

Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series Part 2 will premiere on Netflix February 24. The stakes are higher than ever for Ash, Goh, and Chloe as they advance toward their goals! As the Pokémon World Coronation Series tournament heats up, intensive training is in store for Ash, Pikachu, and their Pokémon friends. Meanwhile, Goh embarks on a series of challenging trial missions to become a member of Project Mew. And as Chloe and Eevee learn about the different evolutionary paths that Eevee can take, will they be able to come to a decision about its future? Get ready for nonstop action, familiar faces from journeys past, and more Pokémon discoveries to be made!

Amir Arison has been cast in Apple TV+’s upcoming drama series Sinking Spring. He joins Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Mando, Marin Ireland and Kate Mulgrew in the eight episode series from Ridley Scott. 

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent return for a new season of The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project on HGTV February 22. Season two follows the couple as they help overwhelmed families sort keepsakes from clutter to get a fresh start. Inspired by the sentimental pieces, Nate and Jeremiah employ their design expertise to transform these spaces into dream homes that truly reflect the people that live in them. 

The interactive comedy adventure special We Lost Our Human will premiere March 21 on Netflix. The adventure begins when two pets wake up one day to discover that every human on Earth has disappeared! Desperate to find their owner, Pud the Cat and Ham the Dog venture out into the world for the first time ever, and wind up on a wild trip through the universe. Discovering strange new worlds, bizarre creatures and general mayhem, this grumpy cat and overly-hyper dog soon realize that every choice they make has huge consequences and the journey to find their beloved owner is anything but ordinary.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! will celebrate its 20th anniversary on January 26, with a special primetime episode. The episode will re-air in the show’s regular 11:35 p.m. timeslot later that night. The late night series premiered on January 26, 2003, with debut guests George Clooney, Snoop Dogg and Coldplay. Clooney, Snoop Dogg and Chris Martin of Coldplay will return as guests for the special. 

CBS will air Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: Battle of the Decades February 8. Hosted by Boomer Esiason and Daniela Ruah, the special airs from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and State Farm Stadium, site of Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. Now in its 22nd year, Esiason and Ruah will spotlight their all-time favorite commercials in each decade before selecting their individual picks for the greatest Super Bowl commercial in the last four decades. Then, America will crown the winner, chosen from the top two finalists in the LIVE vote, which will be revealed at the end of the show. 

Season five of Made from Scratch will premiere on Fuse February 8. The unscripted series goes beyond the recipe when celebrities cook their favorite dishes while sharing their most cherished memories with the loved ones that have helped shape their identity and inspire their artistic craft. Big Freedia, Nicole Scherzinger, Danny Trejo, Roddy Ricch, Kash Doll, Natti Natasha, and more share their favorite home-cooked meals and family memories straight from their kitchens. Additional talent will be announced at a later date. 

CNN will air the 24th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor ceremony celebrating Adam Sandler, in partnership with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The live ceremony will be held at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, DC, on March 19, and the program will air in full exclusively on CNN on March 26.

Cecilia Vega is leaving ABC News where she was chief White House correspondent. In the spring, Vega will join 60 Minutes as a correspondent. 

The CW and LIV Golf have entered into a multi year agreement to air 14 global LIV Golf League live events in 2023 and will stream the events live on The CW App. The 2023 LIV Golf League is set to begin on February 24-26 at the Mayakoba Resort’s El Camaleón course in Mexico. 

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always 30th Anniversary Special will premiere on Netflix April 19. The special will feature a reunion of the original cast and crew of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. 

History’s Greatest of All Time with Peyton Manning premieres on The History Channel February 6. Peyton Manning asks 100 experts in various categories to rank each contender using statistics, innovation, and legacy as criteria. From Henry Ford, Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos to Evel Knievel, Harry Houdini and Johnny Knoxville, this series puts ten G.O.A.T.s head-to-head in different categories in each episode, including toys, inventions, daredevils, sports cars, sports stadiums, candy, titans of industry and dynamic duos. Starting from number ten and leading up to the number one spot, viewers will learn incredible facts as well as the history behind each topic followed by a vigorous debate. No ordinary countdown show, this is an exploration of the best of the best and the historical impact that we still feel today. At the end of each episode, of course, only one can be crowned the G.O.AT. Which will it be, and will viewers agree? 

YouTube Originals for kids and family premieres Jam Van with the debut of the first two episodes featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Brandi Carlile January 19. The series is a blend of animation and live-action with each episode following animated music-loving best friends Lamb (voiced by Pete Lee) and Anne the Alligator (voiced by Nicole Byer) who travel to new locations around the country, where they meet up with famous live-action musical artist friends who help them tackle a relatable social-emotional learning challenge with the assistance of a new original song they sing together. The series also features the voice of Marc Maron as Grumpy GPS.
