Soap vet Matt Borlenghi will join the cast of Days of Our Lives as the new mayor of Salem. Borleghni, who’s no stranger to daytime, is best known for his run on All My Children as Brian Bodine, the love interest of Hayley Vaughan (Kelly Ripa), a role he played from 1991-1996. His other soap appearance was as Ziggy Deadmarsh on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2002. Other credits include Dexter (2007), Without A Trace (2006), Stand Off (2006), Pacific Blue (1999), Police Academy (1997-1998).
According to Soap Opera Digest, the storyline waiting for Matt includes scenes with Abe (James Reynolds) and Roman (Josh Taylor). His first airdate is September 18th.
