After a 12 year absence from Springfield, Melissa Heydon is set to reprise her role of Matt’s sister, Bridget. Last seen in 1997, Bridget returns to Springfield in August. There is no word if Bridget returns with her son, Peter, in tow.
Melissa was nominated 2 times for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series in 1993 and 1994 for her role on Guiding Light, taking home the gold statue in 1994. She was also awarded a Soap Opera Digest award in 1994 for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress. In addition to her two nominations for a Young Artist Award, winning in 1993 for Best Young Actress in a Daytime Series.
Melissa has portrayed Bridget on Guiding Light from 1991 until she left the serial in 1997. She also portrayed a character named Mouse on ABC’s General Hospital in 1989.
