The Young and the Restless star Gina Tognoni, who will soon depart the CBS soap, has issued a statement about her exit from the series she’s called home since 2014.
As previously reported, General Hospital star Michelle Stafford will be returning to Y&R to reprise the role of Phyllis Summers after a 6-year absence.
Tognoni, who took over the role in 2014 and won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2017, commented about her exit on Instagram writing, “Five years ago, I was blessed to embrace the incredible character of Phyllis Summers Abbott. I am beyond grateful for the creative experience that The Young and the Restless has given to me as well as the amazing relationships I made with the cast, crew/staff, producers, and writers.”
