Soap Opera Pulse Poll FAQ
What is the Soap Opera Pulse Poll?
Every week, TVSource Magazine’s visitors have the opportunity to participate in our weekly interactive fan poll for soap operas. The Soap Opera Pulse Poll takes the pulse of soap fans as they cast their vote for their favorite soap stars and couples.
How it works
You can vote for any one actor, actress and couple from any of the four US soap operas. You have the power to determine who will be the top stars for the week.
Select a show from the ACTOR, ACTRESS and COUPLE category. A list be provided for you to choose from. You must make a selection for each category.
How many times can I vote?
Upon re-launch in 2018, you may vote as much or as little as you want.
How do you stop robo-voting/ballot stuffing?
Each ballot has a unique identifier that is included with your vote. The threshold for each has been increased. Those voting more than the hard set limit have their ballots automatically marked for review by our system. If the votes are determined to have violated our rules (through generators/autovoters/etc), the votes will be discarded. You can vote as much as you want, but don’t cheat.
When do polls open and close?
Upon re-launch in 2018, new ballots go up Friday. Voting will last until Sunday night at 8:00 PM/EST.
When are results revealed?
Results will be published Tuesday night.
What is the criteria for voting for soap actors?
Actors that are on contract or regularly recur on the soap operas will be available for voting.
Children are generally exempt from voting unless they’re featured prominently in a major storyline.
What is the criteria for soap couples?
Since our poll launched in 2010, we’ve defined “couples” as characters that are:
- Romantically involved
- In a love triangle or quadrangle
- Potentially romantically involved
- Recently broken up (within the last six months)
This criteria is flexible, subjective and not up for debate.
We’ll add and/or remove couples to available for voting on a regular basis. If you don’t like that a couple is listed for voting, ignore it. We are not removing names because you don’t like the choices.
Attacking us for not including a couple you believe should be available will get you no where.
Can I ask you to include my favorite soap couple?
Sure you can. But that doesn’t mean we will add them right away, or if it all.
What if I don't like how you run the poll?
Then you don’t have to vote.
