90210‘s Adam Gregory is one of Hollywood’s rising stars, and it’s not just TVSourceMagazine.com’s opinion. The gorgeous 21 year old Ohio native is featured on the cover of 944 Magazine’s “On the Verge – Hollywood’s Rising Stars” issue. With two movies coming out soon, a popular recurring role on a hit television series and the drive to excel, 2009 is looking to be a good year for him.
The actor, who recurs on 90210 as the popular and sexy thespian Ty Collins, tells TVSourceMagazine.com it’s been “great” since returning to the show. “I enjoy working with the cast, we get along so well,” he says. “I missed being on set and who can beat the free food!”
In the 90210 episode airing on February 3 (8:00-9:00pm), things seem to be going well for Ty. He landed the lead in West Bev’s production of “Antony and Cleopatra” and gets to spend some time with ex-fling Annie (played by Shenae Grimes). Things seems to be looking up until he learns he’s the father of Adrianna’s (played by Jessica Lowndes) baby. “He’s going to be shocked,” Adam tells us. “He’s got a lot going on in his life, he’s rich, he’s very smart, he’s a great actor, he can pretty much do whatever he wants.” Adam says this news jeopardizes Ty’s career and his life in general. “He’s taken aback.”
For those wondering if this would ruin a chance at a reunion with Annie, Adam told us to “wait and see.” When pressed a little further, the actor admits it does complicate things a bit. “It’s all how we handle it and we’ll see how big of a deal it becomes at the West Beverly Hills High School.” We’re thinking scandalous, salacious gossip that would make the mysterious Gossip Girl proud.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Jessica Lowndes would become a series regular. Since that time, the role of Adrianna has expanded beyond just a friend of Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord). Given the increased story, is it possible the show will do the same with Adam? “I hope they would want to expand my role on the show,” the actor says. “As of right now I’m a strong recurring character. We’ll see how the storyline develops and where they want to go with our characters and they’ll make a decision based on that.”
When asked if he was anything like his character, Adam told us: “Ty is pretty laidback and confident. I’m usually pretty shy, Ty’s straightforward and in your face. He’s an actor and entertains people. We’re pretty much the same but I’m kinda shy sometimes.”
Adam was named one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men of the Week back in November. “That was a big surprise, it all happened really fast. It was definitely cool for my parents, I guess,” he said laughing. “They got to go to the grocery store and pick up People magazine and show their friends.”
So what does Adam find sexy about himself? What does he think is his best feature or quality? “I would like to think my eyes, I guess,” he said shyly. “I never really sat down and thought about it. I kinda see what I like in other people and I hope I have the same quality in myself. I would like to think I have that, because I like it too.”
During his winter break, Adam spent some time with his family. “My brother came back from Iraq so I got to hang out with my brother and enjoyed from free time.” Since then, Adam’s gone back to work doing publicity, magazines and reading for producers. “I’m spending my time wisely.”
In March, Adam appears in the upcoming movie “17 Again,” due out in April, starring Matthew Perry and Zac Efron. Later that month, the actor will star in the upcoming “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” He plays the role of Drew, the love interest of Emily Osment’s character Lily. Drew’s an “all around, All-American high school senior.” The film, which stars Miley Cyrus and regulars from the “Hannah Montana” television series, was shot in California and Tennessee. Adam enjoyed working down in “beautiful” Tennessee. “I’m from Ohio and Kentucky; it was good to be back in the Midwest where you can see some stars and fresh air. It’s the best. You don’t realize it until it’s not there.”
Now that he’s had the opportunity to do both film and television, we asked what are some the differences between the two. “TV is really fast, it’s kinda hurry up and then wait. Movies is like all flow, take your time, do it right. TV is like you’re in a time crunch.” With modeling and acting under his belt, would Adam ever venture behind the camera? “I would love start directing and producing one day,” he says. “But I’m going to get my goals done with acting first and develop a reputation.”
His goals for the short-term seem like they’ll be easily accomplished, given his work ethic and drive to succeed. “I want to film on location. So I want to go somewhere else besides Los Angeles, I’ve never filmed anywhere but Los Angeles, except Tennessee, and it was only for a week. So I want to do something like a full fledge film probably either New York or even my hometown would be great. Vancouver is beautiful I would love go somewhere, just anywhere. I would love to do a film, book a lead that would be great. That would be my short term goals for right now.”
90210 airs Tuesdays at 8PM/EST on the CW network.
