Network upfronts don’t officially start until next Monday, but NBC has already ordered its second comedy pilot into production for the fall season.

Save Me, starring Anne Heche (Hung, Men in Trees), was given a 13-episode pick up by the network today, joining Go On, Matthew Perry’s new comedy on the fall schedule, which NBC will present to their advertisers on May 14.

The comedy will be written and produced by John Scott Shepherd (The Days, Life or Something Like It), and stars Heche as Beth Harper, an accident victim who wakes up and believes she is channeling God and can create miracles. Alexandra Breckenridge (American Horror Story, True Blood) and Michael Landes (Upstairs Downstairs) also star.

Save Me is from Sony Pictures Television and Original Film. Scott Winant (Californication, Hidden Palms) will direct and co-produce the series with Shepherd.
