With Gossip Girl heading into its final season, The CW is already eyeing a replacement. The network has purchased the prep school drama, Copeland Prep from Fake Empire and Catherine Hardwicke.

Deadline was the first to report the news that Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the duo behind Gossip Girl, would be serving as executive producers on the new project. According to the report, the drama will focus on an elite prep school that is so fiercely competitive that its students literally turn into monsters, which leads to disturbing ramifications for the town.

The project was written by Bret Easton Ellis, who will also serve as an executive producer alongside Schwartz, Savage, Len Goldstein and Nicky Weinstock, representing Fake Empire. Hardwicke will serve as an executive consultant and Warner Bros. TV will also be part of the production team.
