The USA Network announced today that it was giving a renewal order to three of its most popular summer dramas: White Collar, Royal Pains and Covert Affairs.
White Collar and Covert Affairs were each given 16-episode orders for their fifth and fourth seasons, respectively. Royal Pains was renewed for two additional seasons and given 13-episode orders for its fifth and sixth season.
“All three of these series have found ways to stay creatively fresh and culturally relevant,” USA Network co-presidents, Jeff Wachtel and Chris MCCumber, said in a statement announcing the renewals. “The execution in writing, acting and production is among the best on television. In an increasingly competitive landscape, these series got new season pickups the old fashioned way – they earned it!”
There’s no word yet on the fate of several of the network’s other dramas, but Burn Notice and Suits are expected to get the nod for their respective seventh and third seasons. The outlook isn’t as good for Common Law, Fairly Legal and Necessary Roughness, with Deadline reporting that they will most likely not be back. Political Animals is also awaiting a decision on whether or not it will get a season order.
Stay tuned.
