'Glee': Contracts for Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr.; Chord Overstreet Out?

Fans of FOX’s hit musical series Glee have news to cheer, and jeer for the upcoming season.

After two seasons of recurring, Harry Shum Jr. has been promoted to series regular, alongside newcomer (and fan favorite) Darren Criss. Good news right? Well here’s the bad news…”trouty mouth” Chord Overstreet’s contract option for season three wasn’t picked up, essentially meaning the actor may not return this season.  Reports indicate the actor could return as an occasional guest star.

On Friday, Overstreet posted a rather cryptic tweet saying, “It’s been a good year. Too bad it’s over. Time for summer and starting fresh.”

These developments come less than two weeks after series creator Ryan Murphy indicated there would be significant cast changes at the end of season three.
