We’ve still got another week to go before we get a new episode of The Originals, but we know the stakes are high. Marcel and Rebekah are gathering an army to neutralize Klaus, but will they succeed? It seems unlikely and thanks to The CW, we have some clues as to how things might turn out once the battle ends.

The network has released the official description for the ninth episode of season one, which will air on Dec. 3 and serve as the freshman drama’s fall finale. “Reigning Pain in New Orleans” finds Marcel having mixed emotions about recent events and Klaus opening up to his ‘son’ about his past. The question is whether or not this conversation is taking place in the garden or if Klaus is free.

Meanwhile, Hayley is worried about the werewolves in the bayou and asks Elijah and Rebekah for help. There was never any doubt Elijah would survive Klaus’ bite, but we’re curious if Rebekah has already ended her alliance with Marcel or if this just means that she’s completely turned her back on Klaus now that he’s out of her hair.

“NEW ALLIANCES ARE FORMED — Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), deeply conflicted by recent events, is surprised when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) opens up to him about some of his past indiscretions. Cami (Leah Pipes) tries to make sense of cryptic messages she’s come across and is disturbed when she gains some insight into Klaus’ past. Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events, the human faction takes matters into their own hands, resulting in a violent confrontation. Elsewhere, when Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) learns of a plan to harm the werewolves in the bayou, she turns to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) for help. After heading to the bayou, they run into a werewolf named Eve (guest star Tasha Ames), who has information that leads them to a shocking discovery.  Joshua Butler directed the episode written by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson.”

The Originals airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW. “Reigning Pain in New Orleans” will air on Dec. 3.
