Soap newcomer Michael Roark’s final episode as Travis on The Young and the Restless aired today. The actor posted a goodbye note to fans on Twitter.

“Love you YR. I made the decision to move onto the next challenge in my career. Thank you fans for your support and for welcoming me, this has been an expected and special chapter for me.”

The Vampire Diaries alum was cast earlier this year as Travis, a mysterious bartender who would go on to become a major part of Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) life in a time when she least expected it.  The actor went on to thank his leading lady Amela Heinle, executive producer Mal Young, casting director Judy Wilson, former producer Jill Farren Phelps and former head writer/producer Chuck Pratt for bringing him onto the show.

My POV: Roark was a great addition to the show and I’m going to miss him. In just a short time he and Heinle created something magical for #Tricky fans. Sad to see it end especially for something we’ve all seen before. Though Roark seems to leave the door open to Travis possibly returning down the line, I’m hoping to see him on a different soap…one in desperate need of attractive leading men with acting ability.
