Raya Meddine, who joined the cast of “The Young and the Restless” in December 2007 as Sabrina Constelana has fired.
A set side source told Soap Opera Digest, “We’re all a little dumbfounded.” The actress recently signed a 3-year contract with “Y&R” and has been featured prominently in a front burner story since her arrival. The character of Sabrina debuted as the friend of Victoria Newman, played by Amelia Heinle. Sabrina caught the attention of Victor (Eric Braeden) and the two soon began a secret affair. When the truth came about regarding their relationship, the Newman children were not too thrilled. An engagement soon followed and for May sweeps, “Y&R” featured the nuptials of Sabrina & Victor. Given the recent behind the scenes changes at “The Young and the Restless,” it was expected the canvas would be shaken up. The addition of multi-time Emmy winning writer Hogan Sheffer as Co-Head Writer, coupled with the slow response from the fans fueled speculation.
