Vincent Irizarry returns to All My Children this fall as Dr. David Hayward, the role he originated in 1997 until 2006. Since his departure, Irizarry was starring as David Chow on the Young and the Restless.
When his character met his demise, fans of All My Children and Irizarry’s were waiting with anticipation for the announcement of Dr. Haywood’s return to Pine Valley.
Irizarry joined Guiding Light as Brandon “Lujack” Luvanoczeck in 1984. He recieved a Daytime Emmy nomination in 1986 for his portrayal. After leaving Guiding Light in 1986 he went on to Santa Barbara as Scott Clark from 1987 to 1989. He also had various guest spots on prime time shows including Beverly Hills 90210 and L.A. Law. He later returned to Guiding Light in 1991 as Nick McHenry Spaulding and stayed there until 1996.
In 1997 Irizarry joined All My Children in what was supposed to be a short term role. Viewers quickly took to Dr. Hayward, the doctor that you love to hate. He left but quickly returned until he was let go in 2006. Some of his more popular storylines include David’s romance with Erica, David, Anna and the death of their baby Leora and the revelation that Babe is his daughter.
