Colin Egglesfield Reprises Role of Josh

After only a short time away from ABC’s All My Children, Colin Egglesfield returns to the soap reprising his role as Josh Madden, the unaborted child of the one and only Erica Kane (Susan Lucci).

After only a short time away from ABC’s All My Children, Colin Egglesfield returns to the soap reprising his role as Josh Madden, the unaborted child of the one and only Erica Kane (Susan Lucci).

Colin replaced Scott Kinworthy, who was let go after only a few months with the show.  For the next 3 years, Josh became entangled in the canvas of the show. Fans were hesitant to accept Josh (and some still are), but many will be happy to see the character back. After Megan McTavish was replaced with James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten, the actor found his airtime reduced and possible couplings (Greenlee and Hannah) were dropped in favor of other pairings and departures.

Any chance of Colin’s story decreased yet again after another regime change, this time with current writer Charles Pratt taking over the reins of the show.  The actor was demoted to recurring and shortly after was written out when Josh fled town after embezzling money from brother-in-law and best friend Zach Slater (Thorsten Kaye).  TVSource Magazine contacted ABC today for further information on the actor’s return. According to an ABC rep, it’s unknown how long the character of Josh will stick around, but Egglesfield is on recurring status.

During Josh Madden’s first visit to Pine Valley, he was power hungry producer for Erica’s talk show New Beginnings. Unsatisfied with being “just” a producer, Josh set out to sabotage Erica. He later got a job at the hospital before moving into the business field. Teaming up with bro-in-law/BFF Zach, Josh took control of Chandler Enterprises and was eventually named CEO.  Josh amassed quite a list of crimes before leaving Pine Valley in September 2008.  Of those — statutory rape (2005), drugging Erica Kane (2006), assisted Babe Chandler in faking her death (2007), and embezzling millions of dollars from Cambias Industries.

In addition to returning to AMC, Colin also has a film The Good Guy, which is currently in post production. The film is about a young rising star on Wall Street who has it all, good looks, good friends, and a great career. But when one of his co-workers befriends his girlfriend, all goes downhill and his future becomes threatened. The film stars Scott Porter, Alexis Bledel, and Bryan Greenberg.
