The rotating door continues at ABC’s “One Life to Live.” On the way out is actress Jacqueline Hendy. Hendy, who plays the very unpopular Vanessa Montez, will exit later this week after her character is deported. Fans were not receptive to her character, and it didn’t help that she came between the very popular Sarah (ex-Justis Bolding) and Cristian (David Fumero).
Also making his way out the door is is Tuc Watkins (David). The actor will depart on March 2, but will return next month according to Soap Opera Digest. Tuc’s latest return kicked off when David Vickers returned to Llanview, calling himself “David Vickeroshi” and living his life following the teachings of Buddhist monks. Dorian hatched a scheme to marry David before he learned of his true heritage…that he’s a Buchanan! The storyline takes a twist this week when it’s revealed that Bo, not Asa, is David’s father. Turns out Bo (as Rex) sleeping with Emma (as Gigi) during the 1969 storyline may have changed the future and present.
Last and but not least is the imminent departure of BethAnn Bonner (Talia). Soap Opera Digest reports the actress’ days on “One Life” are numbered. Bonner’s fate seemed to be sealed after Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio) announced he would not re-sign with the show. Though ABC has not issued an official comment, SOD insiders say the character of Talia won’t be leaving Llanview with Antonio.
Bonner participated in the third season of the SOAPnet series “I Wanna Be A Soapstar,” in which the winner would receive a 13 week contract on “One Life to Live.” Though Bonner didn’t win, she was still offered a contract and debuted in December 2006 as Talia Sahid. Over the past year and half the show has fleshed out her character and has been involved in a romance with fellow cop Antonio Vega.
On The Way In
Timothy D. Stickney will return to “One Life to Live” later this spring as RJ Gannon. The actor was taken off contract in 2006, though continued to put in regular appearances and was featured regularly on the show. RJ’s return will coincide with the return of his relatives Hank (Nathan Purdee) and Rachel (now played by Daphnee Duplaix) as previously reported by TVSource Magazine.
Brett Claywell (ex-Tim, One Tree Hill) debuts on Wednesday, February 25 as Kyle, a lab technician for the Llanview Police Department. Claywell originally was cast as Schuyler before he was replaced with Scott Clifton.
Also, singer/songwriter Rachael Yamagata will perform on April 2 at Capricorn. The singer will perform a song from her new album “Elephants…Teeth Sinking Into Heart.” She will join the likes of Mary J. Blige, One Republic and Puddle of Mudd, who have all performed on “One Life to Live” over the past few years.
