Scott Reeves Cast On 'General Hospital'

Steven Lars Webber Recast With Scott Reeves

Scott Reeves (ex-Ryan, Y&R) has been cast on ‘GH’ as Dr. Steven Lars Webber.

Scott Reeves is putting the ‘hospital’ back in General Hospital when he joins the cast as a Steven Lars Webber recast.  Long-time GH fans will remember that Steven is the half-brother of Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).  Last seen in 2005 as played by Shaun Benson, Steven Lars was a doctor at General Hospital, where his sister Elizabeth works as a nurse.  After a brief romance with Carly Corinthos (then Tamara Braun), Steven Lars faded into the background.  According to TV Guide Magazine‘s Michael Logan, Reeves will join the show in December as GH’s new Chief of Staff.  Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) served as interim Chief of Staff last year after the previous chief, Dr. Ford (Richard Gant) was killed.  Logan reports that Steven will be involved in the storyline with Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), Elizabeth and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson).  The news of Steven Lars’ reprieve comes on the heels of Jonathan Jackson’s return as Lucky Spencer.  Cue the obligatory Sarah Webber rumors.

The country music singer is married to former Days of Our Lives star Melissa [Brennan] Reeves. The two met on the set of Days (she played Jennifer Horton and he played Jake Hogansen)and married in 1990. They have two children and reside in Nashville, Tennessee.  Reeves joined the cast of the Young and the Restless in 1991 where he remained for ten years as Ryan McNeil.  A fan favorite, Reeves departure of the show was said to be storyline dictated and they killed his character off.  Reeves will commute to Los Angeles for his new gig, which is currently recurring.  This writer hopes that the gig turns into a contract role to serve my Melissa-Reeves-back-in-Los-Angeles-and-back-on-Days-agenda… The Reeves family quietly moved out to Tennessee in 2006 to focus on their family, leaving acting behind.

“I’m still writing music and still recording but I really got hungry for acting again,” says Reeves, who earned CMA and ACM nominations as half of the popular duo Blue County. “I’ve always had a great respect for GH so I kinda courted them. It was the one show I most wanted to be on. Steve Burton [who plays mobster Jason Morgan] and I are best friends – we’re literally like brothers – and I just love the people over there. My agent put out feelers and [GH casting director] Mark Teschner called back. They had a role. The timing was perfect.”– Scott Reeves, in TV Guide Magazine

Reeves is currently working on a syndicated radio show with wife Melissa, The Scott and Melissa Reeves Show. To keep up-to-date with Reeves’ projects, you can follow him on his Twitter page.
