Emmy nominee Scott Clifton (ex-Schuyler, OLTL; ex-Dillon, GH) will joining the cast of CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful later this summer. First reported on the official Facebook page of Soap Opera Digest, there is very little known about Clifton’s new role, other than the actor is scheduled to debut in July.
Clifton was last seen in April on ABC’s One Life to Live, playing the role of recovering drug-addict teacher-turned-doctor Schuyler Joplin. The actor was let go from the ABC soap in March due to changes in the direction of his storyline. Along with Clifton, two other actors Brett Claywell (Kyle) and Scott Evans (Oliver Fish) involved in the storyline were also fired.
Prior to joining OLTL, Clifton played Dillon Quartermaine, son of Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) on General Hospital from 2003 to 2007. After voluntarily choosing to leave GH in 2007, he joined the cast of OLTL at the end of 2008, debuting in January of 2009.
Clifton earned his fourth Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor last Wednesday when the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations were revealed. The actor was previously nominated in 2004, 2005 and 2006 for his work on General Hospital.
