Soapy Murder Mystery on ABC’s Castle

ABC’s primetime drama Castle will catch a case of “who dunnit” this March as Castle and Beckett investigate a mystery surrounding the murder of a soap opera writer.*Que dramatic music* TVLine reports viewers should be on the lookout for some of ABC daytime’s finest to appear in the episode “One Life to Lose,” more than likely portraying fictional actors from the fictional soap opera the writer worked for.

Castle’s leading man Nathan Fillion is one of the few primetime elite who haven’t turned their backs on where they came from. Fillion played Joey Buchanan on ABC’s One Life to Live from 1994-1997 and reprised his role briefly in 2007 for two-episode appearance.  Fillion’s co-star Seamus Dever also has ties to daytime; having played Dr. Ian Devlin on General Hospital in 2008. In addition, Ruben Santiago-Hudson had roles on Another World and All My Children; Susan Michaela Sullivan on Another World and Falcon Crest.

Many daytime stars have moonlighted on Castle since the series’ premiere. A Martinez (ex-Cruz, Santa Barbara), Sarah Joy Brown (Agnes, The Bold and the Beautiful), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, The Young and the Restless), Rick Hearst (Whip, B&B) and most recently Andrea Bogart (Abby, General Hospital) have all appeared.

The soap opera writer’s murder episode is scheduled to air on March 21 on ABC.
