Have we seen the last of Melody Thomas Scott as Nikki Newman? It looks like we have for the time being…
No Tape Dates Scheduled!
If you’re a fan of The Young and the Restless‘ Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), you might not see her around for a bit. According to the actress, she isn’t working right now and it isn’t her choice. Our friends at Soaps In Depth report that the reason for Scott’s absence is due to a budget issue.
“I don’t know if or when I’ll be shooting again,” the star wrote on her official Twitter account. “This week’s air shows were my last, until someone determines otherwise.”
The actress stressed that, contrary to rumors, this isn’t a contract issue. “There are no negotiation problems that I know of. Just no scripts for the last month. Believe me, I’d love to be working every day!” she tweeted to a fan. “It’s not my decision. I’d be there every day if that was written.”
Editor’s POV: Simply put if you want more of Melody Thomas Scott on your screen, call and write-in in support of her. I find it unacceptable that an actress such as Thomas Scott, whose character has such a rich history, isn’t being utilized properly. Hopefully something is worked out because MTS needs to be back on our screens!
