Elizabeth Hurley is set to join the cast of Gossip Girl next season.
TVLine reports the actress will play the Diana Payne, a recurring character described as “a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with,” by executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran.
“Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters – including, and especially Gossip Girl herself. Elizabeth’s sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly,” said the duo. “We feel very fortunate to have her.”
The film star hasn’t had the best of luck recently. Her divorce from Arun Nayar was finaliezed earlier this year, and NBC passed on the much hyped Wonder Woman pilot, in which she was to play a major role.
