TVGuide has confirmed that SOAPnet will officially come to an end Friday, March 23 at midnight. The replacement network Disney Junior will go live at midnight on March 24.
SOAPnet will continue to air on select carriers that have yet to work out a deal to carry the new tyke network.
Soap fans who love to catch up on their soaps at night don’t have to fret. While the convenience of a TV network dedicated to soaps is gone, you will be able to watch The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives and General Hospital on official websites for their network.
Disney Junior will launch with a new animated series Doc McStuffins. Additional programming heading to the network include Gaspard and Lisa, Guess How Much I Love You, Sofia The First and Oki’s Oasis. The network will air movies on the weekends.
“This marks the beginning of a sea change in the ‘preschool plus’ television landscape,” says Gary Marsh, president and CEO of Disney Channels Worldwide. “The response to our Disney Junior programming block has been extremely positive.”
Bring back SoapNet! Another colloisial mistake on ABC’s part!! LISTEN to you fans!
Why do preschoolers need a 24/7 network? What is ABC thing? Obviously, they still aren’t thinking!!!! No Mouse in this house! Bring back OLTL!!! Or at least make seasons available online!! Come on!
Please bring SOAPnet back to one of the other channels the weather channel has two channels, ch 47 and 245, take one of these channels to bring soapnet back. and I see that you changed the weather channel it just a mess. I liked looking at the weather on 245 soon as I put the channel on it shows the temperature right away, now you have to search, or possible by a home thermometer., bring soapnet back for the adults that work in the day and come home to dinner and some calming tv befoer bedtime.
I’m very upset the soapnet has been removed, very upsetting. I will never watch the stupid other channel in place of the soapnet. There is enough kids channels out there , there was NO need to add another one. I hope NO ONE watches this channel. My advice is to bring back the SOAPNET channel.
