40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: New Format Will Make Award Show History

When the Daytime Emmy Awards air live Sunday, June 16th on HLN, winners will sit down for live on-stage interviews immediately after accepting their awards.

HLN has announced that it will change the format of the Daytime Emmy Awards by adding LIVE on-stage interviews with the night’s biggest winners. Instead of waiting for post-show interviews, fans will see their favorite stars interviewed directly following their acceptance speech – a first for award show history! The following celebrities have will interview the winners of the top seven categories: Giada De Laurentiis (Outstanding Best Supporting Actor & Actress), Sheryl Underwood (Outstanding Lead Actor), Julie Chen (Outstanding Lead Actress), Sam Champion (Outstanding Game Show Host & Outstanding Talk Show Host), and A.J. Hammer (Outstanding Culinary Host).

The LIVE red carpet special, “Showbiz @ the Daytime Emmys” will be hosted by A.J. Hammer of HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight” along with HLN’s Christi Paul. Look for them to interview stars such as Rachael Ray, Peter Bergman, Heather Tom, Sharon Osborne, Sara Gilbert, Kris Jenner, and many, many more. On Monday, June 17th, Hammer and Robin Meade will do a post-show wrap up on “Morning Express with Robin Meade.”
