Days of our Lives hunk Galen Gering (Rafe) was feeling the vibe of the evening. “I think it has been a phenomenal year for daytime. The fact that we are here celebrating is fantastic. Prospect Park bringing back shows; what ‘Days of our Lives’ has done with ratings and contemporary storytelling; and everything ‘General Hospital’ has done – I feel like there is real excitement in the genre right now. It’s nice to have that back in contrast to the last few years where the mood has been kind of down.”

Fans disappointed with Rafe’s visit to coma-land will have something positive to look forward to when Salem’s resident super hero wakes up. “There is some fun story coming up, perhaps entering into new areas and doing new stuff that you haven’t seen the character do. Good stuff and bad – hardships and new relationships. I think the fans will dig [it].”

As for fans of the surprisingly popular Rafe and Kate, we didn’t forget about you. Galen spoke about working with Lauren Koslow (Kate) and how their characters came together. “It was unexpected and that’s really fun. I knew itwas going to shock people but I didn’t know people would be so engaged in the story and really like it. That was a fantastic surprise. The fun things was, I had an idea of how I wanted to play these two together and Lauren and I talked about it and it’s been really different and the fans have really responded to it.”

  1. I guess they call it Sonny’s apartment because he is the one renting it. Will does not have a job (unless he still works at the pub but we have not seen him working there for awhile). But Sonny called it “our apartment” so not sure why she said that. The WilSon storyline is the only one I care about. I am hoping we will see a WilSon engagement before the end of the year.

  2. Why wouldn’t they call it Will & Sonny’s apartment or WilSon’s apartment instead of Sonny’s apartment? Strange. But I’m glad to read that there will be comedy this summer.
