It wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve in Genoa City without some fireworks and scheming! The week begins with Nick and Sharon not quite in the festive mood. Though they enjoyed a nice Christmas together, each is under the impression that the other just wants to bring in the New Year alone. Wouldn’t communicating solve this issue? Neil extends invitations to Sharon and Nick to attend his and Leslie’s engagement party at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Sharon turns down the offer but Nick agrees.

As the party begins, no one is more pleased to see Nick arrive than his parents — that is until they spy Sharon! Though Nick and Sharon are surprised to see each other, they decided to make the best of the night. As the clock strikes midnight, Nick kisses Sharon! Could this be a new beginning for the former lovers? It won’t be if Victor and Nikki have their way. Buckle up Sharon, you’ve now got a new target on your back, courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Newman.

Damning evidence implicating Adam in the hit-and-run murder of Delia troubles Victor. Though he hopes it’s not true, a part of him can’t help but wonder if it is.
