Soap alum Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy, OLTL) will be popping back up on General Hospital in the very near future! Soap Opera Digest reports Kristen will once again reprise her iconic Ryan’s Hope role as Delia Ryan.
In October, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Silas (Michael Easton) traveled to New York City to get the goods on Ava Jerome (Maura West). Not only were viewers were surprised to see Delia, but they were in store for a bigger surprise when they learned Delia was Ava’s mother! Delia and the late Victor Jerome had an affair, resulting in Ava. Unable to care for her child, Delia gave her up for adoption. Years later, Ava tracked her down, though they would lose touch for over 20 years. Imagine Delia’s surprise when she learned that Ava had a daughter.
Executive producer Frank Valentini told SOD, “She’ll be back very soon.” He continued, “Ilene did a fantastic job and Delia is an important character. I think her return will show viewers another side to Ava.”
Co-star Maura West is thrilled to that she’ll get to work with Kristen this go-around. “Ilene is fantastic and I look forward to having scenes with her. That mother/daughter relationship is one I would love to see fleshed out.”
ABC was unavailable for comment due to the holiday.
