It’s been less than a year since Chad DiMera was last seen in Salem, but when he returns this September he’ll have a new face. Soap Opera Digest reports newcomer Billy Flynn has been cast as the new Chad on NBC’s Days of our Lives.
Flynn replaces Casey Deidrick, who played the role of Stefano DiMera’s youngest son from 2009-2013. “Chad’s return will change the dynamic of Salem society in ways that fans won’t want to miss!,” said co-executive producer Greg Meng.

Look for mentions of Chad to pick up over the next couple of weeks as Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) revenge plot against Chad’s brother EJ (James Scott) and ex-lover Abigail (Kate Mansi) picks up.

The Minnesota born actor booked his first TV role earlier this year, guest starring in an episode of CBS’ Hawaii Five-O.

Billy Flynn first airs September 12.
