Soap Icons Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison will be starring in the new Hallmark Channel original movie franchise Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The first movie is set to premiere this spring.
As reported by Deadline, the movies are based on the New York Times bestselling series of books by Joanne Fluke. Sweeney will play Hannah Swensen the shop owner of the Cookie Jar. Hannah turns amateur detective after a mysterious murder while getting caught in an unexpected romantic mystery of her own. Mathison is set to play Detective Mike Kingston.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder marks Sweeney’s first major acting gig following her October exit from Days Of Our Lives where she played troublemaker Sami Brady for almost 22 year. Sweeney is also know as host of NBC’s hit reality show The Biggest Loser.
Mathison is best know for his role as Ryan Lavery on All My Children. He was a contestant on season 5 of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and has expanded his career outside of acting as a frequent correspondent for news programs Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight.
Mathison recently tweeted his excitement about the project to co-star Sweeney along with a photo.
So cool, can’t wait to watch Ali Sweeney on prime time, however i would have prefered someone else than Cameron Matheson as her leading man..well maybe i am wrong and he will be great on this project..i hope..time will tell.
