The past and future will collide in honor of General Hospital’s 52nd anniversary on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Select scenes from the very first GH episode that aired on April 1, 1963 will be revisited, and the story will be expanded in order to answer questions raised that day.

“None of us took it lightly,” said Thompson in an interview with TV Guide’s Michael Logan. “It was a real honor to pay tribute to the cast that launched our show. Let’s face it: If they hadn’t done their jobs extremely well—if they hadn’t grabbed the attention of the audience right off the bat—none of us would be here today.”

General Hospital’s production team recreated the original nurses’ station for the special episode. In our special gallery below, check out photos from the special episode airing next week. Click next or back under the picture to navigate the gallery.
