Disney+ and Disney Channel have officially ordered Kingdom Hearts: The Series. The anime is based on the video game franchise. The newest upcoming game Kingdom Hearts IV will debut in late 2027.
HBO Max has renewed Stuart Fails to Save the Universe for a second season. Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well. The series stars Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), Brian Posehn (Bert), and John Ross Bowie (Kripke).
Deli Boys has been canceled after two seasons. In the hulu series, when their convenience store-magnate father suddenly dies, a pair of pampered Pakistani American brothers lose everything and are forced to reckon with their Baba’s secret life of crime as they attempt to take up his mantle in the underworld.
Season two of Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ January 20. Season 2 continues the story of Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and her extraordinary journey beyond the known galaxy. As Ahsoka and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) travel across a mysterious and perilous world to find their way home, their friends must face the powerful Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and his sinister allies, who seek to plunge the New Republic into war. Hayden Christensen is set to return as Anakin Skywalker. Rory McCann joins as Baylan Skoll, replacing the role played by Ray Stevenson following his death.
VisionQuest, the third and final piece of the WandaVision story, premieres October 14 on Disney+. Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
Season three of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere November 20 on Disney+. The new season is based on “The Titan’s Curse,” the third installment of the book series by author Rick Riordan. The stakes are higher than ever before as Percy is faced with the sudden disappearance of Annabeth and the impending Great Prophecy provided by the Oracle of Delphi, dictating the fate of Olympus. As foretold by the Oracle of Delphi, one demigod child of the “Big Three” is fated to raise Olympus to new heights or bring it crashing into ruin, with their own life hanging in the balance.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will premiere on Disney+ September 2. The official Podcast will also launch September 2. Animated special LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian will also debut September 2. The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.
Disney+ is no longer developing a live action Power Rangers series. It is likely the potentially large budget was not feasible at the streamer.
Peter Capaldi has joined the cast of hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. His casting marks the third actor to play The Doctor from Doctor Who joining David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker. Season six will take place in England.
Netflix is expanding its Young Adult slate with new series. Sid & Zoey follows Sid, a seductive, sophisticated, and amoral teenager from New York, is sent to live with a police chief and his family in the idyllic Mississippi town where his mother grew up. The family includes the chief’s sharp-witted, punk-rock daughter, Zoey. Resisting their mutual attraction, Sid and Zoey find themselves drawn into a dark, hidden world beneath the town’s picture-postcard facade – and a supernatural mystery that may well get them killed if they don’t kill each other first. Sunshine Girls will premiere December 2026. Valley Hills is a perfectly nice California suburb… unless, like Olivia, you’ve lived in New York City your whole life. When her parents split up, Olivia is suddenly the new kid at Valley High, where she meets horse girl Taylor and influencer Riley. Freshman year comes at them fast, with false starts, first kisses and family drama, but together these unlikely best friends will find their place in the sun. Randall Park will join the cast of Minimum Wage. An ensemble workplace series set inside a chaotic local pizza shop, the series follows a group of teenage employees battling power-tripping managers, an unhinged rush, and the slow grind of service-industry burnout. The stakes are low. The pressure is immense. The series carries the rapid-fire, short-form rhythm of the original American High Shorts digital content.
