Do call it a comeback! Soap veteran Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden) has returned to Days of our Lives reports Soap Opera Digest.

In the newest issue of the magazine, SOD says the actor has is back on set taping and will first air in late spring. Cosgrove was let go last year amidst the creative changes taking place on the long running NBC serial. The popular actor saw his equally popular romance with Kristian Alfonso (Hope) was torpedoed when his character Aiden took a sudden dark turn, plotting and eventually attempting to murder Hope the night of their wedding in an ill-fated attempt to pay off bad debt purchased by the DiMeras. Aiden was presumably killed by a returning Bo (Peter Reckell) during the altercation.

The SOD blurb mentions he’ll be playing Aiden. What this means is anyone’s guess. Given Aiden’s unwilling alliance with the DiMeras, it’s possible it was all a #DiMeraTrick (the show’s go-to crutch to explain anything they want to undo) and the man who attacked Hope wasn’t the real Aiden. Nevertheless, it’s nice to see him back on the show.

Cosgrove’s filmography spans daytime and primetime, with credits including Beverly Hills 90210, All My Children, Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Dirty Sexy Money, The Good Wife and Person of Interest.

Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.

  1. Would rather they undo Will’s death but, I guess they won’t do that.
