Get ready for an influx of new faces in National City! In preparation for Supergirl’s move to The CW for Season 2 this fall, the superhero drama will be adding five new major characters – including the relative of an iconic Superman character.
In addition to casting the role of Clark Kent/Superman, TVLine reports the series will cast series regular roles of Lena Luthor and Nick Farrow; recurring roles of The Doctor, Snapper Carr and Maggie.
Lena, the sister of the infamous Lex Luthor, is described as “sexy, smart and determined” and moves to National City to get out of the shadow of her brother.
Nick is described as a “brash leading man” who will clash with Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) at CatCo. Nick is looking to make a name for himself given his legacy as the son of a famous reporter. His battles with selfishness and self-indulgence, one of the things that holds him back and puts him at odds with Kara.
The Doctor is a leader of Project Cadmus, skilled in the arts of genetically modifying prisoners with alien techology; Snapper Carr is a veteran journalist hired by Cat (Calista Flockhart) to revamp CatCo’s news division; Maggie is a lesbian detective based on the comic character Maggie Sawyer. She’s a member of the Science Police.
Supergirl will air Mondays when the series makes its network debut this fall on The CW.
