General Hospital star Bryan Craig (Morgan) is set to exit the long-running drama in the near future. Daytime Confidential reports the actor has quit the series.

“It’s been an amazing journey, but I feel like the time is right for me to say goodbye to General Hospital and Morgan Corinthos,” the actor exclusively told Soap Opera Digest. He went on to say his decision to leave wasn’t easy, and thanked fans for their support.

Craig was cast in 2013 as Sonny and Carly Corinthos’ youngest child. Debuting in May in the midst of a crisis, Morgan quickly became entangled in the web of Ava Jerome (Maura West), daughter Kiki (then-Kristen Alderson) and his brother Michael (Chad Duell). Last year the series embarked on a bipolar storyline for the character, which continues to play out.

Bryan Craig won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in May 2016.

It is unknown if the series plans to recast. A rep for ABC was unavailable for comment at press time. Craig is expected to last air in November.

Should ABC recast the role of Morgan? TV Source Magazine will share its picks for who should be the next Morgan Corinthos this weekend. Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
