The CW’s Supergirl has cast a former Lois Lane as one of its big bads for Season 2. Teri Hatcher, star of ABC’s Desperate Housewives has landed a major role as a yet-to-be-named villain and is slated to appear in several episodes.

Before she broke hearts on Wisteria Lane, Hatcher was chasing stories and the hunky Man of Steel on ABC’s Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993-1997.

“No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all-time favorite Lois Lane,” said executive producer Andrew Krisberg in a statement. “To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti], and the fans.”

This will mark Hatcher’s second visit to a DC Universe show post-New Adventures. She guest starred on Smallville in 2010 as Lois Lane’s mother Ellen. Here’s to hoping viewers get at least one scene between Hatcher and former New Adventures of Superman co-star Dean Cain, who recurs as Supergirl’s adoptive father.

Since Desperate Housewives ended in 2012, Teri Hatcher has guest starred on ABC Family’s Jane By Design and currently recurs on CBS’ The Odd Couple.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8:00 PM on The CW.
