Freeform has ordered Pretty Little Liars spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists to series. The I. Marlene King drama received a 10-episode order and will premiere in 2019. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, is based on the popular book series The Perfectionists, written by Sara Shepard, who also penned the No. 1 New York Times bestselling book series Pretty Little Liars.

Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents, but nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.

Leading the cast is Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprising their Pretty Little Liars roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal. Sophia Carson (Descendants, Famous In Love) will play Ava, a beautiful trendsetting blogger and coder, who strives to be a fashion icon. Completing the trio of ‘perfectionists,” along with Carson’s character of Ava, are Sydney Park (The Walking Dead) as Caitlin, and newcomer Eli Brown, who portrays Dylan.  Caitlin is described as smart, driven and thrives under pressure. The perfect daughter of two perfect mothers, Caitlin has set her sights on following in her mother’s Senatorial footsteps. Dylan, a gifted cellist, grew up feeling judged in his small hometown and now feels the need to be the best in all of his endeavors. He is deeply committed to his two passions, his music and his boyfriend, Andrew.

Melrose Place and Gossip Girl alum Kelly Rutherford stars as Claire Hotchkiss, matriarch of the Hotchkiss family. Claire (along with her husband) is the founder of Hotchkiss Industries and the respected Beacon Heights University. Claire believes perfection is attainable and is the person who pulls the strings behind the scenes to get what she wants. General Hospital star Hayley Erin rounds out the cast in a mysterious, unnamed role.

“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. I. Marlene King (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Famous in Love”) wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer with Charlie Craig (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The 100”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and Gina Girolamo (“The 100,” “The Originals”).
