It’s official: Mishael Morgan (Hilary) is confirmed to be leaving CBS’ The Young and the Restless.

TV Source Magazine broke news of the actress’ exit earlier today. Soap Opera Digest reports per a source that the actress opted to leave. We stand by our initial report citing contract negotiations as the source of contention.

It’s no secret we’re big fans of Mishael Morgan, so we’re more than a little disappointed with the news of her departure. Not only is this a huge hit for the popular couple, but also for inclusion and diversity in casting and storylines. We’re saddened to see her go, but talent like hers won’t be overlooked for long in soaps or other ventures. We wish her all the best and look forward to supporting her future endeavors.

If you’d like to voice your support for Mishael Morgan, Hillary Curtis and the Hilary & Devon pairing, call CBS at (323) 575-2345 and ask for The Young and the Restless comment line; also (respectfully) tweet Y&R’s head writer/executive producer Mal Young (@malyoung) and CBS Daytime (@CBSDaytime) to voice your and urge CBS to keep her. Your support has kept her around this long, maybe it can turn the tide once again.
