When The CW’s Black Lightning returns in early 2019, fans can look forward to the youngest Pierce daughter Jennifer (played by China Anne McClain) donning her own costume. Check out this first look at China Anne McClain as her crime fighting alter-ego “Lightning”.
One of the major arcs in Black Lightning’s sophomore season has Jennifer learning to use and control her electricity based meta powers all the while dealing with the usual teenage issues like controlling parents, running away with a rebellious sexy criminal boyfriend, etc. Unlike her father Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) and sister Anissa/Thunder (Nafessa Williams), the call to be a hero hasn’t been that strong until now. Oh, and how’s this for size, Jennifer is more powerful than Black Lightning and Thunder!
McClain’s costume is our favorite of the Pierce’s thus far.
Black Lightning returns from its winter hiatus in January, the series moves to Mondays following Arrow beginning January 21, 2019.
