Happy Sunday, Good Girls and Guys! There was some debate about this preview going up since there was already an impressive leak earlier in the week but hey, what the hell? Leaks happen. Let’s get started with the preview for “This Land is Your Land.”
Beth is out of the game but that’s certainly easier said than done. While she’s trying to fit back in to her perfect wife and mother persona it’s not that easy. It’s like trying to fit in to a dress that still looks good but you’re not comfortable in and things just don’t feel right, no matter how it looks. Beth likes danger. She craves being more despite her promises to herself, to her husband, to her lover. While she gives in to temptation in a small way-hey, a girls got to feel alive somehow-whether or not she’ll dive all the way back in? Unknown. Especially when the cops come knocking on her door…or rather, at her family’s business. Also, for my loves that like symbolism? Pay attention to the book that Beth is reading for her legitimate book club and the story behind it. It’s not exactly subtle.
Annie and Ruby may support Beth in her decision to escape their life of crime but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re on the same page as she is. Sadie needs hormone blockers now that he’s officially come out as a boy to his mom and with Stan out of work and surviving only on Ruby’s paycheck times are tough. So, they decide to go with what the know in the form of Gang Friend. With a little help in the excuse of Sara, Annie and Ruby head up to Canada for some ‘book club’ business of their own. Ruby struggles with guilt over what she’s doing and she and Annie butt heads over the best course of action. Needless to say things don’t go exactly according to plan.
Regardless, Annie has her own come-to-Jesus moment in regards to Noah who isn’t as unflappable as he may appear and Ruby is making it her mission to get Stan out of his funk. We love a supportive wife and mother.
Quotes:
- “How do we want to do this?”
- “It was almost….fun.”
- “Are they too sexual?”
- “No wonder you’re in a chair!”
- “But with you? I already know what I’m dealing with so I’m not that damaged.”
- “What are you doing here?”
- “I didn’t think we still followed rules around here.”
That’s it for now! Enjoy tonight’s episode on NBC at 10/9c because it is intense and you’ll definitley see why I thought it was the finale.
