Veteran actor Robert Newman is stepping into the role of business tycoon “Ashland Locke” on CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless. This is a return to the CBS family for Newman, who previously spent 28 years playing fan favorite “Joshua Lewis” on Guiding Light, the longest-running program in broadcasting history before its final broadcast in 2009. The Daytime Emmy-nominated actor will first be seen in Genoa City on Wednesday, Feb. 9.
Newman has recently guest starred on House of Cards, Chicago Fire, Homeland, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Law and Order: SVU. Film credits include Amazing Spider-Man 2, Dracano, and the short film Deadline, for which he earned the Best Actor award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival in 2014. Off-Broadway Credits include Perfect Crime, She’s of a Certain Age, Sessions: the Musical, and Quiet on the Set.
The Young and the Restless celebrates its 49th anniversary in March 2022 and has been TV’s #1 daytime drama for 32 years. It air weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
