Fox Renews ‘9-1-1’ and ‘The Resident’

Just in time for Fox’s Upfront presentation, the network has announced that it has renewed dramas 9-1-1 and The Resident. Both series were in negotiations ahead of the presentation, having already renewed all of their other scripted series.

9-1-1 will return for a sixth season. The first responder series’ fifth season finale airs tonight.

Medical drama The Resident will be back for a sixth season. The fifth season finale airs tomorrow and will see the return of original star Emily VanCamp following her exit from the series.

The rest of Fox’s lineup for next season has been set, though no fall schedule has been announced yet.
