The Last of Us is coming to HBO Max in 2023. Based on the video game of the same name, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Season six of Elite will premiere on Netflix November 6. When three working-class teens enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to murder.

Solar Opposites’ Halloween Special A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special premieres on hulu October 3. Last season, the animated series aired a holiday themed special, this year they went spooky. The series which has been renewed for a fourth season stars Justin Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, Mary Mack, and Sean Giambrone. 

CBS has renewed summer reality staple Big Brother for a 25th season. It will premiere in summer 2024. The announcement comes after the season 24 finale winner made history. 

Peacock’s The Calling (formerly The Missing) will premiere November 10. The eight episode investigative drama series from David E. Kelley tells the story of NYPD Detective Avraham Avraham, whose belief in mankind is his superpower when it comes to uncovering the truth. Guided by a deep sense of spirituality and religious principles, Avraham is left to question his own humanity when a seemingly routine investigation turns upside down. 

Chainsaw carving competition series A Cut Above premieres on Discovery Channel October 2. Hosted by Adam Beach, the series puts the contestants to the ultimate test of artistry, stamina and carving skills as they re-imagine ordinary wood logs into jaw-dropping works of art. Each week, the carvers will compete in Quick and Master Carve challenges while racing against the clock in hopes of avoiding elimination. At the end of the grueling twelve-week competition, the artist who out-carves the rest will win a cash prize and be named “A Cut Above.” Chainsaw carver, Ryan Cook and esteemed sculptor, Katharine Dowson bring their combined expertise and artistic prowess to serve as the competition judges and decide who will move on to compete for the grand prize and who will get the chop. 

Peacock has canceled Queer as Folk after one season. The series was a vibrant reimagining of the groundbreaking British series created by Russell T. Davies, exploring a diverse group of friends in New Orleans whose lives are transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy. 

Comedian Hannah Gadsby has signed a new deal with Netflix. The deal includes a new standup special and other projects. The news comes after Gadsby previously called out CEO Ted Sarandos. The new special will premiere in 2023. 

Magnolia Network has renewed a handful of series. Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines has been renewed for season seven. Ranch to Table has been renewed for season three. From the Source has been renewed for season three. The Craftsman has been renewed for season two. Magnolia Workshops has also been renewed for season two. Additional episodes of Silos Baking Competition will also air. The network has also ordered new series set to premiere on air and on discovery+. The new series include In the Kitchen with Abner and Amanda, Inspired Interiors with Sarah Sherman Samuel, Make Yourself at Home with Maddie Moate, Storefront Stories, The Story of Home, and The Williams Family Cabin. 

Damian Terriquez and Kaleb Horn will recur on Netflix’s upcoming new series Glamorous. Miss Benny and Kim Cattrall star in the series. 

Jeopardy! Executive producer Michael Davies has hinted at more potential spinoff series. One idea would be for a masters league seeing the big names and heavyweight winners return. Another potential spinoff would be one focused on sports trivia and pop culture. 

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! heads back to Brooklyn this week. September 26 will see Amy Schumer and Charlamagne Tha God as guests with musical guest Run The Jewels. September  27 will see David Letterman and Tracy Morgan as guests. September 28 will be  Mila Kunis and Ramy Youssef as guests with musical guest Future. September 29 the guest will be Ben Stiller with Yeah Yeah Yeahs as musical guests. September 30 will see Jason Bateman and Paul Simon as guests with Paul Simon also serving as musical guest.

Alaska: The Last Frontier returns for a new season on Discovery Channel October 9. The season begins when Otto Kilcher is critically mauled by a steer during a severe snowstorm. With doctors unsure if he will recover, his wife Charlotte is left reeling with grief and the family overwhelmed with homestead work. Life has always been unpredictable yet rewarding on the homestead but now the Kilcher family is faced with a hard truth after Otto’s accident: the younger generation must step up and take on more responsibilities or the homestead will not survive. 

Netflix’s Lookism will begin streaming November 4. The series based on the popular Korean webtoon about a teenager who wakes up one day with a handsome face and perfect body. 

Moonrise will premiere on Netflix in 2024. The anime series takes place in the year TS 2XXX AD. Humanity has formed a “relaxed world government.” Everything was entrusted to the international AI network Sapientia, and people lived according to their rational judgment… However, Sapientia’s “moon reclamation project” created a schism between the Earth—which maintains peace by sending pollutants and criminals to the moon—and the moon, which is forced to live in poverty, becoming a source of fire for the War of Independence.

Nickelodeon and Mattel’s animated series Monster High premieres October 28. The new series follows Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and Deuce Gorgon, as they discover who they are, embrace their differences, and learn to be fierce and fearless at the one place they all belong: Monster High. 

Spirit Rangers will premiere on Netflix October 10. The series follows three indigenous siblings who embark on incredible, fantastical adventures. Using traditional necklaces based on real world abalone medallions to communicate with the spirit world, Kodi, Summer and Eddy can turn into their very own animal spirit, using their magical transforming powers to save the day. They belong to the Skycedar family, a beautiful mix of Chumash – from mom’s side, and Cowlitz – from dad’s side, tribes.
