Season two of The Gilded Age returns on HBO October 29. The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems, and of huge fortunes made and lost. Season two begins on Easter morning 1883, with the news that Bertha Russell’s bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Through the eight episodes of the season, we watch as Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society, but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe. 

Wilderness premieres on Prime Video September 15. Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)’ will be the song of the opening titles. The song reflects Liv’s transformation after her supposed “happily-ever-after” quickly turns into a living nightmare on discovering her husband Will is having an affair. . The couple embark on an American road trip Liv’s fantasized about since she was little, from the Grand Canyon on through Yosemite, before ending up with a hedonistic weekend in Las Vegas. For Will, it’s a chance to make amends; for Liv, it’s a very different prospect – a landscape where accidents happen all the time. The perfect place to get revenge. Look what he made her do… 

The D’Amelio Show returns for season three on hulu September 20. From relative obscurity and seemingly normal life to being thrust into the Hollywood limelight almost overnight, the D’Amelios are faced with new challenges and opportunities they could not have imagined. Charli, who at 16 became one of the biggest celebrities with over 150 million followers combined and #1 on the TikTok platform in less than a year, has the world at her fingertips and is working to balance fame and family life with dancing, relationships, making new friends in LA and battling the haters online. Her sister, Dixie, now 19, is experiencing her own sudden rise to fame with over 80 million followers combined, and an exploding music career. For mom Heidi and dad Marc, raising teenagers is hard enough before adding a cross-country move, supporting their daughters’ dreams, and doing the best they can to stay close and protect their girls from the dark side of fame, while also trying to adjust to life in Hollywood. 

Season two of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on Fox September 25. The 14 all-new celebrity recruits are Dez Bryant, Tyler Cameron, Savannah Chrisley, Blac Chyna, Brian Austin Green, Robert Horry, Erin Jackson, Bode Miller, Jack Osbourne, Tara Reid, Kelly Rizzo, Tom Sandoval, JoJo Siwa and Nick Viall. The series enlists a troop of household names to endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process. This time around, the recruits will be faced with the harsh reality of winter warfare training on the mountains of New Zealand where the terrain and freezing temperatures are brutal and the tasks will feel like torture. There are no votes, and no eliminations – just survival. These celebrities, who are so used to being in the spotlight, will quickly learn the meaning of “no guts, no glory” – and no glam. Selection for the Special Forces is a test unlike any other. Fourteen celebrities from all genres and walks of life, will take on, and try to survive, demanding training exercises led by Directing Staff (DS) agents Rudy Reyes, Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox and new agent, Jovon “Q” Quarles, an elite team of ex-special forces operatives. In this unique series, the only way for these recruits to leave is to give up on their own accord, through failure or potential injury, or by force from the DS. 

HBO has renewed 100 Foot Wave for a second season. The series chronicles the adventures of big wave surfing legend Garrett McNamara, his wife, Nicole, and their nucleus of friends and fellow surfers in Nazaré, Portugal as they push the boundaries of their sport and the limits of their minds and bodies. 

Drama series Black Cake will premiere on hulu November 1 with three episodes. Based on The New York Times-bestselling book by Charmaine Wilkerson, the series is a family drama wrapped in a murder mystery with a diverse cast of characters and a global setting. The story takes place in Jamaica, Italy, Scotland, England and Southern California. Cerar wrote the adaptation and serves as showrunner on the series, which spans decades. In the late 1960s, a runaway bride named Covey disappears into the surf off the coast of Jamaica and is feared drowned or a fugitive on the run for her husband’s murder. In present day California, a widow named Eleanor Bennett, loses her battle with cancer, leaving her two estranged children, Byron and Benny, a flash drive that holds previously untold stories of her journey from the Caribbean to America. These stories, narrated by Eleanor, shock her children and challenge everything they thought they knew about their family’s origin. 

Season seven of Elite premieres on Netflix October 20. In this new season, Omar is living a new life at the university and far away from Las Encinas, but he is unable to move on. The guilt he feels for Samuel’s death and the suffering from that period are still very much present, leading him to undergo therapy. Thanks to an internship, he decides to return to the school where everything happened to confront his demons face to face. Through Omar’s journey we will discover that the rest of the students are also silently battling their own hells. Season seven will tackle mental health and how most of us neglect it out of fear or ignorance.

Living for the Dead premieres on hulu October 18 with all episodes. Five fabulous, queer ghost hunters criss-cross the country, helping the living by healing the dead. As they explore some of the world’s most infamous haunted locations, they’ll shed light on those not seen and illuminate untold stories. Together they’ll push past boundaries to bring acceptance to the misunderstood – living and dead. 

Gen V will premiere on Prime Video Septemebr 29. Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, the series expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes – preferably with lucrative endorsements. You know what happens when supes go bad, but not all superheroes start out corrupt. Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations … literally. As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they’re put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories? 

Kountry Wayne’s standup special A Woman’s Prayer will premiere on Netflix September 19. The comedian delivers a rousing stand-up set about life as a dad of 10, how to know if a woman likes you and why he keeps it real with Jesus. The special was filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. 

A new season of paranormal encounter series Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror premieres on Travel Channel October 1. Jack Osbourne continues his journey into the paranormal and embarks on some of the most spine-tingling investigations of his career. Joining Osbourne this season is his famous family and some of his closest celebrity friends, who all have a desire to get a deeper understanding of what paranormal entities are lurking in the shadows of some of America’s most historic and haunted locations.

Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs will premiere on Netflix September 5. The comedy special was filmed during his Shane Gillis Live tour in Virginia. 

Syndicated game show People Puzzler has been cleared in over 90% of the country and will premiere September 11. Hosted by Leah Remini, three lucky contestants put their pop culture knowledge to the test to complete iconic, People Puzzler crosswords. The player who has won the most points after three rounds will move on to the Fast Puzzle Bonus Round where they will have the opportunity to win a cash prize. The series originally aired on Game Show Network. 

ITV’s Big Brother UK reboot series returns this October after a five year hiatus. The series is confirmed to run for at least two series. The network is also mulling bringin back the celebrity version of the long running series. 

Anitta, D-Nice and Sofia Carson will join Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Megan Thee Stallion, Conan Gray and Stray Kids at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival. The special will air September 24 at 7:00/6:00c on ABC. It will also stream on ABC News Live, Apple Music and the Apple TV App, Prime Video and the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch, Hulu, iHeartRadio, Mediacorp, SABC, TimesLIVE, Veeps, YouTube and more.

ABC News docuseries Never Let Him Go premieres on hulu September 6. When authorities found Scott Johnson’s body at the rocky base of a cliff in Australia in 1988, they declared his death a suicide. The gay American mathematician’s tragic demise and the murky circumstances surrounding it set his older brother Steve Johnson’s decades-long pursuit for answers in motion.The docuseries paints an intimate portrait of Scott’s life and untimely death through never-before-seen evidence from the investigation, personal home videos and rare archival footage from 1980s’ Sydney. As Steve’s probe gained international attention, it sparked a public reckoning in Australia, shedding new light on a pattern of violence against the LGBTQ+ community. 

Disney+ celebrates Star Wars: Ahsoka premiere with a new featurette. From August 22 – 31, U.S.-based Disney+ subscribers will have the ability to purchase select Ahsoka franchise products prior to sales to the general public on September 1, 2023. Apparel, pin trading, and more encompass the early access product. Set after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. 

V/H/S/85 is the sixth installment of the found footage franchise, premeiring October 6 on Shudder. Get ready to journey back to the ’80s.
